Have you ever encounter new born kitten before and know how to handle them? If yes, it’s good. If you’ve haven’t and don’t know how to take care of them, lets read the steps below.
1. Wait and Watch
You might have come across the kittens while their mother is off searching for food, or is in the process of moving them to a different location. Try to determine if the mother is coming back for them, or if they are truly orphaned.
…and if the mother is coming back then it’s okay for you. But, if she’s not, then the responsibility is yours.
But you must prepare everything you got to ensure the kitten’s survival, before sent it to volunteer or adoption site.
It’s okay as long as you follow the steps.
2. Prepare food and water
Provide fresh water and some food. Do not feed the young kittens with hard biscuits. They are too young to bite or swallow. Give them soft food or kitten milk.
3. Send injured or sick cats to vet
Send injured and sick cats to the veterinary clinic closest to you. If not, call friends or family who can help rescue them. All the recommended Vet Clinics are listed at the footer.
4. Prepare shelter
Provide shelter from hot weather or rain. Put new born kittens in a box and leave them under a shady area. Make sure the mother cat is aware of where her kittens are, if she is nearby.
5. Take photos up for adoption
Give the cat or kitten contemporary shelter and take few photos. Then post the photos on reliable cat adoption sites and send them up for immediate adoption. Reliable Adoption Sites can be found at the footer below.
